What We Believe

The Bible is the Word of God
We believe that the Bible is God's perfect, infallible Word. It contains everything we need for life and godliness. We take His Word very seriously, receiving in faith every account written in the Bible, from creation all the way to our Lord Jesus' anticipated return. We hold God's commandments in the highest regard and seek to follow His Word to the best of
our understanding and ability.

One God in Three Persons
We believe that there is only one, true God—the One who created the heavens and the earth and reigns over all of His creation. We believe He exists in three persons—God the Father, Jesus His Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that God the Father sent His Son, Jesus, to the earth to die for our sins, and that the Holy Spirit, who raised Jesus to life, now dwells within all who are saved!

Salvation is Through Jesus Alone
We believe that all of us are sinners and are therefore separated from God, lost, and destined for hell. We believe that God loved us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to come to this earth and dwell with men.
While on earth, Jesus was tempted in every way but never sinned. Therefore He was able to become the perfect, divine, and final sacrifice for all of mankind's sins through His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave.
Jesus is now the only Way to salvation! All who hear His Gospel, believe that He is the Son of God, repent of their sins, confess Him as Lord, and are baptized into Christ Jesus will be raised to new life and salvation! This is God's ultimate, beautiful, and loved-filled redemption plan open to all who will receive it.

Christians Are Called to New Life
We believe that everyone who has been saved is now called to live a new kind of life—a life devoted to putting away our old, sinful selves and putting on Christ as we grow in our love for God and others.

We believe that when we are baptized into Christ Jesus, that we are baptized into His death. At that point our sins are forgiven and our old self dies. When we come out of the waters of baptism, we are raised with Christ to a new life free from the chains of sin.

We believe that, through baptism, we not only receive the forgiveness of sins, but also the gift of the Holy Spirit. This is God's Spirit in us! He sanctifies us, intercedes for us, comforts us, empowers us to live a new life here on earth, and seals us for eternal life in heaven!

“But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed."
—Isaiah 53:5, a prophesy about Jesus
